Steve > Have you ever wanted to know what it takes for me to get a picture from me to you. It starts with my Nikon D70 then goes to my MacBook where it passes through 2-4 pieces of software (DXO Optics Pro, Photoshop Elements, Nik Color Efex, iPhoto). The image is then sent through the air to a router which sends the information to this satellite before it is transmitted thousands of miles into space. Another satellite receives this information and sends it to a server back on earth completing the process to upload these words along with this image. Why do I say all this? Simply because it's SO cool!
Steve > Do you remember the days when you could walk into a supermarket and buy a bag of flour, take it home, and then use it. Yeah, those were good days. These days it is always wise to sift the flour. I haven't always remembered to do this so we've also eaten the "friends" you'll find in the next picture. Yum, protein.
Steve > The dark friends in the picture like to crawl around and the wormy friends in the upper right just wiggle. In Cameroon it seems like the bugs enjoy hanging out more but when we lived in Abeche the worms seemed to colonize. These critters were found in about 3-4 cups of flour.
