Steve > EVACUATION
February 8, 2008

I don't know what to say... Last week we were in Chad listening to the explosion of mortars and RPGs. I actually made a short video of our location with the audio from some of the battles but I've decided to not post it now. Maybe the silent words written on a screen better reflect the quiet we hear in France. In some ways I want you to hear the violence that interupted our lives but on the other hand it changes nothing while feeding fears. There is so much to say but the words feel so tiresome to speak. Our hearts are broken to leave Chad in this way as we grieve what was left behind and look into a future that is completely uncertain. Where do you go when almost all human possessions have been taken away and the sandy trails to the future are hidden by the winds of change?
