When teaching about the wheat and chaff to people in America it is normally necessary to explain the cultural significance. Here in Chad it is just a part of life. Our neighbor and language helper, Abbo, has a field about 25km outside the city where he plants peanuts but first he needed to shell two large sacks. Easy enough - we went outside his home a set out a mat in the road between our homes and used the windy day to his benefit. Only sad thing is I wanted to go with him to help plant in his field but it didn't work out. Maybe next time.
